Race Relations Act 1967 (as amended)

This places a statutory duty on public authorities to:

  • Eliminate unlawful racial discrimination and harassment
  • Promote equal opportunities
  • Encourage good relations between people from different racial groups

The Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended)

Under this Act public authorities are required to have due regard to a number of considerations relating to disability equality. These include:

  • Promoting equality of opportunity for disabled people
  • Eliminating discrimination and harassment
  • Taking into account the disabilities of disabled people
